About this item

A green katan silk saree with fine gold stripes, a red-bordered zari pallu and a traditional elephant-peacock motif. Rich, traditional and made for weddings and festive occasions.

Product Description
This saree is built in the language of traditional South Indian weaves. The green body is lined edge to edge with fine gold stripes, giving it a structured, textured look that catches the light with every fold.

The real weight of the piece sits in its pallu. A broad golden zari panel, framed with a deep red border, carries a detailed procession of elephants and peacocks, a motif drawn from classic temple weaves. The same red-and-gold border runs along the length of the saree, tying the whole drape together.

Katan silk has a firm, structured drape, ideal for the fuller pleats and defined pallu that this design calls for. It holds its shape through a long ceremony and photographs beautifully.

The price here is earned through the density of zari work on the pallu, the layered border detailing and the traditional motif work, the kind of detailing usually reserved for heirloom sarees.
